  • You can check in for your flight online, usually starting 48 hours before your flight and up until 90 minutes before it leaves. This lets you choose your seat and get your boarding pass either by printing it or saving it on your phone through Emirates' online check-in system.
  • You can check in for your Emirates Airlines flight from your mobile device between 24 hours and 4 hours before it leaves. This way, you don't have to worry about long lines at the airport and can feel more relaxed before your flight.
  • It's recommended that you arrive at the airport 4 hours before your flight's scheduled departure time. When you get there, you can go to the check-in counter to check in for your flight, drop off your bags, and get your boarding pass.

What Are The Ways To Emirates Airlines Check-In?

Whether you are doing Emirates check-in online or offline, you will have to follow almost the same procedures.

Though the offline check-in process is a bit complicated and frustrating, reaching the airport on time can help you deal with the situation easily. Here are all the processes involved in online and offline check-in-

Online Check-In

Emirates Airlines allows passengers to check in online via two major ways- Emirates Airlines web check-in & Emirates Airlines Mobile Check-In.

Emirates Airlines web check-in

If you go to the Emirates Airlines website, you can find the page for checking in for your flight. You'll need to give them some information and then click the check-in button. It's an easy process and doesn't take too long to do.

Once you've checked in, you can choose to get your boarding pass by printing it out or downloading it. If you need to make any changes to your flight information, you can do that in the "My Booking" section before you print your pass.

Emirates Airlines Mobile Check-In

Checking in online for Emirates flights is easy and can be done from home. Just download the Emirates App and log in to your account. From there, you can check in for your flight by filling in some information.

Once you've checked in, you can download and print your boarding pass or save an electronic version on your phone to use at the airport. This way, you won't need to carry a physical copy with you.

Note:

  • Unaccompanied minors are not allowed to check in online, and they must visit the airport check-in counter with their parent(s) to do manual check-in.
  • You can select up to 9 members to check in at once. More than 9 members are not allowed to check in online.
  • You are eligible to check in once if your returning flight departs within 60 hours of boarding.

Offline Check-In

Checking in offline is a tough task, but not all passengers are allowed to check in online. So you will have to visit the airport anyways. Basically offline check-in is of two types- Self-service Kiosk and Counter check-in.

Counter Check-In

With counter check-in you will have to visit the airport at least 4 hours before the scheduled departure. Now, get to the Emirates counter, verify your Id proofs, and then check-in with your belongings.

The agents at the Emirates Check-in Counter, after verifying all your Emirates Airlines check-in documents, will allow you to proceed with security checks.

You can also get your boarding pass printed there at the counter.

Kiosk Check-In

Self-service Kiosks are available all over the airport and you can use them to check-in, manage your bookings, and do many other activities. The added advantage is that you can scan the QR code and do a contactless check-in just via your phone. You will get all the options available at the Kiosks.

You can check in, receive your Emirates boarding pass, choose your seat on board, make payments for ancillary purchases, such as additional baggage allowance, and drop off your bags without having to touch anything at all.

Home Check-In

This service is available only for passengers departing from Dubai. You can opt for the service anywhere between 48 and 12 hours before scheduled departure.

Emirates check-in agent will check you in from your home and you can also drop off your baggage at the airport or convey it there for additional fees. So when you travel to board your plane you will be totally hands-free.

Note:

  • You can seamlessly pass through all the gates up to your boarding gate just by registering your Face ID at the Dubai Airport. Terminal 3 Concourse B of Dubai Airport has an advanced biometric zone that can recognize any passerby.
  • You can use the smart gates by registering to use the Smart Gates at Emirates Terminal 3 and you can fly through Immigration every time you arrive and depart from Dubai. You can use your passport, Emirates boarding pass, or just your UAE ID if you are a UAE citizen. If you're a GCC national or a visa‑on‑arrival visitor with a biometric passport, you are allowed to use the smart gates. Just get on to the gate, scan your ID, it will opt to click a photo and you will be good to go.
  • You can use the Emirates early check-in facility for some additional fees and get on the priority check-in list.

How To Download My Boarding Pass?

After your successful check-in either online or offline, you can get your boarding pass via the same method. A boarding pass is necessary in order to get on the plane.

E-Boarding Pass

When you check-in using your mobile app or the website, you will get the option to download your Emirates Airlines mobile boarding pass. You can choose either to download and print the pass or download and save it on your mobile phone.

You are allowed to present it either way, hard copy as well as the soft copy of the pass. However, getting the soft copy keeps you hands-free and also eliminates the chances of losing or damaging the pass.

Printed Pass

The usual option for passengers is to carry a  hard copy of the boarding pass. This printed pass needs to be presented at the terminal gates to allow access to the airplane. Getting the hard copy of the boarding pass is easy at the airport.

You can also download it online and print a boarding pass from Emirates Airlines from anywhere you wish.

Note: If you are traveling in groups, you must present an individual pass for each member either a boarding pass or a printed pass.

Deadlines For Boarding

After checking in online or at the airport, you are required to proceed towards boarding via the security check. However, there are deadlines for you to follow for your smooth transition from check-in to boarding-

  • Boarding for the airplane starts 45 minutes prior to the departure.
  • The gate closing time for the airplane is 20 minutes before the scheduled departure.
  • If you have Emirates Airlines online check-in with baggage, make sure to arrive at the airport 90 minutes prior to the scheduled departure.
  • If you have checked in online without baggage, arrive at the airport 60 minutes prior to the departure time.

Emirates Airlines' check-in and boarding process is designed to provide passengers with a stress-free and convenient travel experience. By offering various check-in options and efficient boarding procedures, Emirates ensures that passengers can board the aircraft safely and on time.
